Guide to Authors — Format & Submission Instructions
Authors are advised to follow the format and structure of the Sample Paperas a guideline.
(Using the Sample Paper helps speed up screening and avoids formatting returns.)
Format Guidelines
Except in the case of reviews, contributions should be no longer than the equivalent of 10 printed journal pages (6000 to 8000 words) inclusive of tables, illustrations and references. Short communications should follow the requirements for original research papers but the text must not exceed 2000 to 3000 words. A typical page of text in the journal contains ~520 words. Manuscripts should be typed on one side of A4 paper, double spaced, with 3 cm margin on each side, text line numbered and paginated. All contributions are subject to editorial revision. To strictly follow the style, authors should download sample paper and organize their papers strictly in line with it. A full-length paper must be organized as:
- Manuscript type: Full Length Article/Review Article/Short Communication
- Title: Complete title of your manuscript (species names without authority’s name)
- Running Title: Should not be more than 50 characters (with spaces)
- Authors: Full names of contributors along with their affiliation (no abbreviations)
- For correspondence: The e-mail of the corresponding author must be given (only one email, ORCID optional). Indicate the corresponding author by an asterisk (*).
- Author contributions: Equal contributions marked with † followed by statement: “†Contributed equally to this work and are co-first authors.”
- Novelty statement: 4–5 bullets highlighting the scientific merit of the work.
- Abstract: Up to 250 words covering objectives, methods, results, conclusions, and implications.
- Keywords: Four to six.
- Introduction: Background, hypothesis, and objectives with up-to-date references.
- Materials and Methods: Clear, explicit, and referenced.
- Results: Include statistical significance of treatment effects.
- Discussion: Logical and original, reflecting recent literature.
- Conclusion: Briefly summarize findings, implications, and future directions.
- Acknowledgement: Keep concise.
- Author Contributions: Define contributions of each author.
- Conflict of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts.
- Data Availability: State if data are available on request.
Ethics Approval:
- Publication ethics: The following must be observed:
- The paper presents original work not under review elsewhere.
- All authors have approved the manuscript content.
- Permissions obtained for reused or copyrighted material.
- Conflict of interest and contribution statements provided.
- Papers may only be withdrawn or retracted under TUF policy for valid ethical or data reasons.
Funding Source: Mention funding source even if none.
References: Giving references both intext and in the list should follow the Harvard style. The guidelines for Harvard Style. In-text citations should follow these formats (: Chirnside (2022); (Kirsten 2019); Basra and Iqbal (2019); (Hassan et al. 2023); Rikihisa et al. (2024). Multiple citations: (Jones 2023; Chirnside 2024). Same-year citations: (Author 2023a, 2023b). References should be alphabetically arranged, all author names included, and formatted as:
